You are only allowed one item of cabin baggage per passenger up to 10kg with maximum size of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. Handbags, briefcases, laptops etc. must be carried in your 1 piece of cabin baggage.
Extra or oversized cabin baggage will be refused at the boarding gate so you need to make sure your hand luggage or cabin bag is the right size, or you can where available place extras in the hold of the aircraft for a fee of £50. If you are not sure, check with the Bag Drop desk before going through security to save embarrassment.
One piece of hand baggage can be brought into the cabin with you and cannot be bigger than 56 x 45 x 25cm including the wheels which must fit comfortably into the baggage gauge. Hand bags, briefcases and laptop bags are all counted as a single item so if you have a hand bag and a laptop bag for example this will be counted as one item.
Plan your hand and hold baggage in advance as if you bring too many items of hand baggage to the check-in desk staff there will insist that they be booked into the hold and you’ll be charged £25 per item! This is due to easyjet having higher handling costs if they register your hold bag only at the airport. Also if you checked in online so avoiding check-in and you arrive at the boarding gate with too many items of hand baggage, there’s a charge of £40 per item to put them in the hold which is never a good thing. This charge this higher to cut down on delays at the boarding gate and ensure a smoother boarding process.
Most other airlines such as BA, BMI and jet2 will allow larger cabin bags than the above.
